An Emerging Universe Story

Award-winning author and storyteller Jennifer Morgan gives programs for all ages. This program was for the elementary level at the Wilmington Montessori School as part of the Cosmic Education Curriculum.

My Mission: To deepen our love and understanding of the universe.


Science is handing us an extraordinary origin story . . . a story we all share, not only with every human, but with every living being, our earth and the entire universe. It's a new story -- indeed, we only learned the age of the universe within the last five years -- and we've only barely begun to grapple with this new understanding of a universe more dramatic than we ever dreamed of before.

Inspired by the work of Thomas Berry, Brian Swimme, Maria Montessori, Miriam MacGillis and numerous others, I studied cosmology, evolutionary biology and anthropology, and worked with numerous scientists to write a Universe Story Trilogy for children. Each book has a story section targeted for the elementary and middle school levels and a science concept section in the back for teachers and parents. The books are now used in classrooms around the world.
